TODAY
Stefania Cottiglia, an art educator from Florence, Italy, will speak on "Telling Stories and Playing
Through Art." at 7:30 p.m. in 1101 Fine Arts Center.
Pianist Cole Burger, a new member of the College of Musical Arts’ faculty, will perform a faculty recital
in Bryan Recital Hall of Moore Musical Arts Center at 8 p.m.
THURSDAY
Jazz Spotlight with Jazz Lab Band I, directed by David Bixler and with special jazz artist Sean Jones on
the trumpet, will be at 8 p.m. in Kobacker Hall at the Moore Musical Arts Center.
Master of Fine Arts students Erin Miller and Melissa Mickael read from their work at 7:30 p.m. at Prout
Chapel.
"Der Blaue Engel (The Blue Angel)," the 1930 film by director Josef von Sternberg, will be
screened as part of the International Film Series at 7:30 p.m. in the Gish Film Theater at Hanna Hall.

FRIDAY
The Concert and University Bands under the direction of Kenneth Thompson and Carol Hayward perform a
combined concert at 8 p.m. in Kobacker Hall.
SATURDAY
Klezmer Madness, with David Krakauer on clarinet. will open the Festival Series at 8 p.m. in Kobacker
Hall. The ensemble mixes traditional klezmer with contemporary American styles. For ticket information,
call (419) 372-8171. A free informational session about the music and musicians will be held at 7:15
p.m. in Bryan Recital Hall.
SUNDAY
"Zoo in Budapest" a 1933 film starring Loretta Young ad Gene Raymond will be shown as part of
the Sunday Matinees Series at the Gish Film Theatre at 3 p.m.
Hammer/Klavier, a newly formed piano and percussion group featuring BGSU piano faculty member Thomas
Rosenkranz with Michael Sheppard, piano. Gwendolyn Burgett Thrasher and Svet Stoyanov, percussion., will
give a guest concert at 8 p.m. in Bryan Recital Hall. The program includes Bela Bartok’s Sonata for
Piano and Percussion.
OCT. 1
Joanna Grabski, an associate professor of art history and visual culture at Denison University will give
an ARTalk on "Narratives of the Visual and Visual Narratives: Reflections on Dakar’s March?©
Colobane as a Visual and Discursive Field" from 6 to 7 p.m. in 204 Fine Arts Center.
Guest artist David Gillham will perform a violin recital at 7 p.m. in the Marjorie E. Conrad, M.D.,
Choral Room in the Wolfe Center for the Arts.
Guest artists Soundproof with perform at 8 p.m. in Bryan Recital Hall.
OCT. 2
"Cineposium" featuring short films created by BGSU students in their recent film production
courses will be held from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. in the Gish Film Theater. The filmmakers will be present to
answer questions.
OCT. 3
ARTalks continues with "The Highway of Thought" presented by David Hilliard, a photographer
from Boston, Mass. His talk will begin at 7:30 p.m. in 204 Fine Arts Center.
AT THE GALLERIES
"Out of Rubble: Artists’ Responses to War and its Aftermath," featuring the work of 18
international artists, continues through Oct. 7. Gallery hours are 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday through
Saturday, 6 to 9 p.m. Thursdays, and 1 to 4 p.m. Sundays.
The "Put Up and Shut Up" exhibition by BGSU alumna Cleo Brengman starts in the Bowen-Thompson
Student Union on Sept. 26, continuing through Oct. 14. Gallery hours are 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. weekdays and 9
a.m. to 9 p.m. weekends.
