Sculpture to
be unveiled
at Greenwood
A new venue for sculpture by Bowling Green State University students will open in the courtyard area at
Greenwood Centre 1616 East Wooster St., Bowling Green, Sunday at 2 p.m.
A 700-lb. granite sculpture, “Kryllion Meditation,” by Jonathan Sudler, a second-year Master of Fine Arts
student, has been chosen as the first recipient of the Mecca Management Outstanding Art Student Award.
Faculty selected his an abstract form meant to visualize sound waves. He is also a classical pianist and
has composed music to accompany the sculpture. He also receives a $1,000 cash prize.
The gallery space and award are sponsored by Mecca Management, the owner of the plaza, through the BGSU
Foundation.
The family of Al Green, owners of Mecca, made a 10-year annual commitment to fund the award, including
the cash prize, property insurance to protect the piece, and a personalized plaque mounted near the
sculpture.
The art will remain on display throughout the academic year.

‘Nutcracker’
on stage
TOLEDO — The Ballet Theatre of Toledo will present Nigel Burgoine’s production of the “Nutcracker” in the
Valentine Theatre in downtown Toledo Nov. 25. at 7 p.m., Nov. 26 4 p.m., and November 27 at 2 p.m.
Lauren Tenney, a former Ballet Theatre student and now principal dancer for the Lexington Ballet, will be
featured as the Snow Queen along with her partner Evan Pitts. Principal dancers from the Cincinnati
Ballet will appear as the Sugar Plum Fairy and Cavalier. Jay Goodlett will play the Russian dancer.

MAUMEE — The Ohio State University Marching Pep Band will perform at a pep rally to be held at The
Andersons, 530 Illinois Ave., Nov. 25 at about 9:30 p.m.,
The rally will follow a concert by the full marching band at 7:30 p.m. at the Stranahan Theater. Call
