Tower Brass rings in season with series of performances

The nationally-known and Bowling Green-based brass ensemble The Tower Brass Quintet has scheduled several
performances of "Spirit of Christmas Brassed" in the area, including the ensemble’s annual
show at Trinity United Methodist in Bowling Green.
The quintet launches the season Friday at 10 a.m. on WGTE Public Radio’s "Live From FM 91."
Tower will collaborate with host Brad Cresswell on "Emma’s Christmas," the story by Irene
Triva set to music by tubist David Saygers.
On Monday, the Tower Brass will travel to Napoleon where they will be featured guests on the Napoleon
Community Band Holiday Pops Concert at Emanuel Lutheran Church, 810 Scott Street. Performance time is
7:00 p.m.
The TBQ returns to Trinity United Methodist Church, 200 N. Summit St, Bowling Green on Tuesday at 7 p.m.
for its 12th annual appearance at Trinity. A free-will offering will be accepted at intermission. For

The Musical Arts at Firelands will also present the Tower Brass Dec. 11 at 3 p.m. at Firelands
Presbyterian Church, 2626 E. Harbor Road, Port Clinton. Tickets are $15 at the door.
This season’s program offers a full spectrum of holiday music, including classical and sacred music,
brass ensemble arrangements of well-known traditional Christmas carols, and jazz renditions of popular
tunes of the season.
Members of the Tower Brass Quintet are Brian Bushong and Larry Herman, trumpets; Bernice Schwartz, horn;
Dan Saygers, trombone; and David Saygers, tuba. The Tower Brass Quintet is represented by Parsons
Artists Management of Highland Park, Illinois.
Tower Brass is in its 32nd year of existence, after being founded as a graduate brass ensemble at Bowling
Green State University.
