Silverbacks in action
The Silverbacks will play their first show at Tre’o in Sylvania on Friday from 8 from 11 p.m.
The jazz combo features John Johnson, bass, Bob Manley, saxophones and flute, Scott Kretzer, drums and
Michael Peslikis, piano.
The band will play some new additions to its repertoire at the show.
Also Peslikis, Manley and Johnson will be joining drummer Bob Rex at the Village Idiot in Maumee Sunday
from 6-9 p.m.
Conservancy marks milestone with photography exhibit
Black Swamp Conservancy, Perrysburg, in collaboration with the National Center For Nature Photography is
hosting a photography exhibit "10,000 Acres: Preserved Forever" on display at the center
weekends through Aug. 28.
The exhibit of scenic photographs of the conserved lands is on view weekend days from noon until 5:00
p.m., at the center in Secor Metropark, U.S. 20, six miles west of I-75 in Berkey.
The conservancy, founded in 1993, is a non-profit land trust whose mission is to protect and preserve
agricultural land and natural areas in northwest Ohio. Black Swamp Conservancy protects family farms,
woods and other open spaces, mostly through permanent land conservation agreements known as conservation
easements.
Art Weber, the Center’s director and his team of nature photographers have been visiting many of the
conservancy’s properties over the past year to document the landscape, flora and fauna.

Kentucky comedian in BG
Headliner Roy Haber will headline Comedy Night Tuesday at 9 p.m. at Grumpy Dave’s, 104 S. Main St.,
Bowling Green.
Haber mines his experience as a five-foot-two Jew from Kentucky for humor.
Matthew David Stanley is the feature act.
Tickets are $5 and $3 for students.
Masterworks holds auditions for chorale & teen internships
The Masterworks Chorale will hold auditions June 7 and 8 from 6 to 8 p.m.
Auditions for the high school internship program will be held at the same time.

High school interns practice with the chorale in fall and perform in the December concert. They work with
a section mentor and receive vocal training and costume assistance if awarded the internship.
High school internship auditionees should come prepared with a recommendation from their school choral
director or their voice teacher. No prepared piece is required.
The Masterworks Chorale, conducted by Donna Tozer Wipfli, is a 45-member mixed voice ensemble comprised
of singers from the greater Toledo area.
