Katelyn Laubis and Nathan Eckel exchanged wedding vows Aug. 13 at the Wood County Historical Center and
Museum.
Pastor Tim Philabaum conducted the 4:30 p.m. ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of Terry and Jodi Laubis, Portage. The groom is the son of Denise Eckel,
Perrysburg, and the late Jim Eckel.
Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a one-shoulder chiffon gown with pleat wrapped bodice,
lace-up back, draped skirt and chapel train. It was accented with rosettes, embroidery, crystals, pearl
beading and sequins. She chose a birdcage veil trimmed with crystals.
Melissa Vetter of Bowling Green was the matron of honor for her sister.
Maid of honor was Stacey Laubis, Bowling Green, sister of the bride. They wore blue cotton dresses with
Y-necklines and short pleated skirts.
Olivia Laubis of Bowling Green, niece of the bride, was the flower girl. She wore a bubble hem taffeta
dress with floral detailing at the neckline and empire waist, and a Malibu blue ribbon accent.
Ring bearer was Jackson Vetter of Bowling Green, nephew of the bride.
Nolan Eckel, Perrysburg, served as best man for his brother.
Groomsman was Nick Eckel of Perrysburg, brother of the groom.
Suzy Schumacher was soloist and guitarist for the ceremony.
A reception was held in the Bowen-Thompson Student Union’s Lenhart Grand Ballroom at Bowling Green State
University, with music furnished by Decorative Sounds.
The couple plan a honeymoon trip to Jamaica this fall. They are making their home in Bowling Green.
The bride graduated from Bowling Green High School in 2005 and BGSU in 2010.
The groom is a 2000 graduate of Eastwood High School and a 2005 graduate of Ohio State University.
