The University Women of Bowling Green State University kicked off their 2011-12 programming year with
their annual Fall Brunch Aug. 27 at the Simpson Garden Park Hall on Conneaut Avenue.
The brunch was attended by current and prospective new members.
Also present by special invitation was BGSU’s new president, Dr .Mary Ellen Mazey, who addressed the
membership after being named honorary president of UW.
All female faculty and staff members and wives of male faculty and staff are eligible to join the
organization. Other women may join as patron members.
Dues are $10 and payable to treasurer Phyllis Hartwell, 504 Lorraine Ave., Bowling Green, by Sept. 15.

A major benefit of UW membership is the option to join one or more special interest groups which meet
regularly throughout the school year. The are currently groups based on antiques, docent-led Toledo Art
Museum tours, bridge, community service, gardening, knitting and crocheting, retirees, literature groups
meeting on several different days of the week, and a Lunch Bunch.
