Sievings hold 75th family reunion

PEMBERVILLE – The 75th John and Eliza Sieving reunion was held Aug. 21 at Riverview Banquet Centre, with
83 pople present for the potluck dinner.
Jim Witker welcomed everyone and led them in singing the Doxology. Hosts for this year’s reunion were the
Wilson Witker and Ray Heckman families.
Marriages recorded since the last reunion: Don Heckman Jr. and Pam Pocabroski in October; Kathy Witker
and Jordan Baker in May; Andy Witker and Molly Mazur in June; Lavon Linkey and Shawn Nehls, as well as
Mathew Heckman and Rosalind Smith, July. Samantha Hekman will wed Tom Mair Sept. 3 in Iowa.
New additions to the family tree: Brynn Livengood to David and Katrina, Bonnie Whittaker to Roger and
Jenna, Jakeb Roberts to Steve and Sara, Mia Heckman to Scott and Kanah, Gentry Mair to Samantha Heckman
and Tom Mair, Josia Bench to Kurt and Corinna, Khloie Gobel to Lucas Gobel, and Ella Puckett to Amy and
Chad.
There were two deaths in the past year: Paul Sundermeier in April and Gary Dauer in July.
Russ and Nancy Heckman celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary Aug. 12.
Family members traveled from Indiana, Iowa and Florida.
Marcena Sundermeier, Ruth Dauer, Ken Sieving and Laverne Gondry are the only family members left in the
fourth generation of Sievings.
Next year’s reunion will again be held on the third Sunday in August at the same hall, the Pemberville
American Legion. Clarence Heckman, Lloyd Henline and Paul Sundermeier families will be in charge. They
are descendants of Anna Sieving Heckman.
