Webster Class of 1942 reunited for 69th year

PERRYSBURG – The Webster High School Class of 1942 met Sept. 21 at Scrambler Marie to celebrate 69 years
since graduation.
Clark Duncan was thanked for his constant efforts to keep his classmates informed about each other and
for organizing the reunion each year. He led the dinner prayer, remembering those classmates missing,
especially Florence (Swartz) Peoples who died this past year.
Four of the original 17 classmates remain: Duncan, Dale Gross, Bonnie (Newman) Whitcomb, and Grace
(Hebler) Coy. Coy, who now lives at Lutheran Village of Wolf Creek, was unable to attend. Also present
were spouses Marcella (Dahms) Duncan and Jean (Broderson) Gross, Don Kuhlman’s wife Mary, and Whitcomb’s
daughter Karen.
After the meal stories were told about classes and teachers at Webster and classmates now gone, with
observations made on the tremendous changes since their graduation in 1942 with the country at war.
With the optimism of their class motto, "Our aim success: Our hope to win," the group voted to
meet again next year.
