Anniversary celebration planned
TONTOGANY — Tontogany Presbyterian Church is planning a gala celebration
for its 150th anniversary on Sept. 11. Festivities will begin with a
procession to the church at 9:40 a.m.
Members and friends will gather at the “four corners” of Tontogany and
march in procession to the church for the 10 a.m. worship service.
The service will be followed by a ceremonial tree planting by the youth
of the church and a potluck lunch. The celebration will include an organ
concert of patriotic music in memory and honor of the victims of the
Sept. 11, 2001 attack, and the 150th anniversary of the Civil War. The
concert will be given by Terry Brassell of T. S. Good Organ Co., Toledo.
The public is invited to join the congregation for the celebration.
Wayne church hosts picnic
WAYNE — Mt. Zion United Brethren Church will host the annual Sandusky
Conference picnic on Sunday starting at 4 p.m. The public is invited to
attend. Events begin with antique and classic, cars, trucks and tractor
display at 4 p.m. There will also be a corn hole tournament at 4 p.m., a
hay rides, face painting and a “bounce” attraction. The meal is served
at 5 p.m. featuring barbecue chicken and more. Ed Byerle and Friends
Country Gospel concert is set for 5:10 p.m., followed by Chris Mowery in
concert at 7:15 p.m. A softball tournament is set for 5:50 p.m. There
will also be a bonfire following the picnic.
Baked steak set
McCLURE — The McClure United Methodist Church will have a baked steak
supper next Friday from 5 to 7 p.m. In the church Fellowship Hall.
Carry-outs will be available and a free-will offering will be taken.
The church is located on Ohio 65, just south of U.S. 6 in McClure.
Concerts set for ‘Truck Stop Ministries’
NORTH BALTIMORE — Truck Stop Ministries, Inc., has announced concerts
for September. Each of the concerts is scheduled to be held at the
Trucker’s Chapel located at Petro Truck Stop. The facility is located at
Interstate 75 and Ohio Route 18 in North Baltimore.
The line up includes Homelighters on Sunday and One Voice on Sept. 11.
Each concert is set to begin at 6 p.m. Those attending should bring their own lawn chair.
Lutheran classes set
An information session regarding Lutheran Catechism classes for Junior
High students will take place Wednesday from 7 to 8:30 p.m .at Zion
Lutheran Church, 303 Park Drive, Luckey. A schedule for the year will be
available that night. Parents will meet at the church while the
students meet simultaneously for games and crowd breakers at Grace
Lutheran, 216 Main St. Luckey. Parents and students will meet together
for closing exercises at 8.

AWANA hosts open house
LEMOYNE — The Lemoyne Baptist Church, 25020 Bradner Road, will host an
open house for its AWANA kids program on Wednesday from 6:30 to 8 p.m.
There will be inflatables and free snacks. The program is for those in
kindergarten through sixth grade and all are welcome. It meets from
September to April.

Outdoor service set
PEMBERVILLE — First United Presbyterian Church will hold its annual
outdoor service at the Pemberville Depot on Sept. 11 at 10 a.m. Those
attending are asked to bring a friend and a lawn chair.
Gospel concert planned
Village View Church of Christ in Bowling Green will host the gospel group Grace Harmony in concert
Wednesday at 7 p.m.
The public is invited.
Rally Day with BBQ nears
DOWLING — Christ Lutheran Church, Dowling, will hold its Rally Day on
Sept. 11 with face painting and a balloon launch. That day will also
feature the second annual Jim Eckel chicken barbecue from noon to 2 p.m.
