‘Hairspray’ on stage

MAUMEE – The musical "Hairspray" will be staged by 3B Productions Friday and Saturday at 8 p.m.
and Sunday at 2:30 p.m. at Maumee Indoor Theatre, 601 Conant St.
The musical is set Baltimore in 1962 when TV dance parties ruled and racial segregation was the norm.
But Tracy Turnblad, played by Stephanie Heck, is intent on breaking down barriers of all kind. She’s
supported by her mother, played by Joe Barton, Grand Rapids.
The cast also includes: Becky Beebe, Macie Downs, Jon Harris, Paige Zilba, Stephanie Konczal, Paul Heckel
and Abby Heckel, all Perrysburg; Joyce Johnson, Wayne; and Lena Krukemeyer, Pemberville. Also,
performing are BGSU students Kirsten Crockett, Eli Brickey, Kendra Jo Brooks, Tim Millis, JD Caudill,
Sabryna Ashby and Mariah Burk.
Beckie Heck directs with choreography by Bob Marzola and musical direction by Janine Baughman.
Tickets are $12 and $10 for students and seniors.
