Edna Mae Bostdorf

Edna Mae (Green) Bostdorff passed away on, Tuesday January 25, 2011, days before her 94th birthday.
She was born on January 28, 1917 to Stanley and Laura (Anderson) Green, on Poe Road, rural Bowling Green.
A Green family member still lives at this home.
Edna has one living sister, Vera Roe. She is preceded in death by two brothers: Avery and George Green,
and three sisters: Alice Perry, Erma Martin, and Eileen Gundy. Edna married John Bostdorff on March 5,
1939 and enjoyed forty-five years of marriage, with John passing on September 8, 1984. They had four
children: Richard (Mary Ann) Bostdorff, Mary (George) Vetter, Charles (Shirlee) Bostdorff, all of
Bowling Green; and Patricia (Dennis) Smith of Tiffin. Edna was blessed with ten grandchildren, and
eleven great-grandchildren.
Edna graduated from Tontogany High School. She spent her lifetime helping her husband farm, north of
Bowling Green. Edna always raised chickens, and enjoyed her egg money for many years. She enjoyed
growing a huge garden, and spent many hours in her kitchen canning fruits and vegetables. Her youngest
granddaughter gave her the name of "Grandma Cookie," named after her wonderful sugar cookies.

Edna was recently honored at the Haskins Community Church for being a 72 year member. Her Green family
tree was traced back to pre-1855, as she was a member of First Families of Wood County.
Funeral Services will be held Friday, January 28, 2011 at 7:00 p.m. at Haskins Community Church, Main
Street Haskins. Pastor Jennifer Jackson will officiate. The family will welcome friends for a time of
fellowship following the service. Interment will be at Union Hill Cemetery at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday,
January 29.
Memorials may be made to the church or to Wood County Committee on Aging, in support of their wheeled
meal services.
