Herbert Miesle

Herbert A. Miesle, 94, of Rawson Place, Fremont, OH, passed away on January 7, 2011 at Countryside
Continuing Care Center.
He was born on October 17, 1916 in Fremont, OH to William and Clara
(Bundschuh) Miesle. He married Dolores “Dody” Hoffman on May 20, 1939 at
St. Ann’s Catholic Church. She preceded him in death on May 24, 1999.
Herb was a 1935 graduate of St. Joseph Central Catholic High School, where he was inducted into the Hall
of Fame in 2006.
He worked in sales for over 30 years at various places including White Truck Sales and Daybrook
Hydraulic.
He was a member of St. Ann’s Catholic Church, Confraternity of The
Blessed Sacrament Division #3, Rosary Alter Society Division #9, Fremont
Elks, Knights of Columbus and Moose. He enjoyed fishing, golfing,
bowling and all athletics.
Herb is survived by his children – Michael (Kay) Miesle of Bowling
Green, OH, David (Mary Ellen) Miesle of Seattle, WA and Mary Lynn
(William) Simmonds of Otisville, MI; sister – Frances Miesle of
Fremont, OH; Grandchildren – Patrick, Brad, Douglas and Mark Miesle,
Jennifer Livingston, Carin Brown, Jill Langley, William Simmonds, Carrie
Bowman and Sara Simmonds and 19 great-grandchildren.
Herbert was preceded in death by parents, wife and siblings, William
Miesle Jr., Edwin, Henry, Danial and Helen Miesle, Mildred Foster,
Luella Ahner, Neoma Balsizer and Kathryn Meyer.
Visitation: Tuesday, January 11, 2011 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. at
Wonderly-Horvath-Hanes Funeral Home & Crematory, 425 E. State St.,
Fremont, OH.
Mass of Christian Burial: Wednesday, January 12, 2011, 10:30 a.m. at St.
Ann’s Catholic Church, with Fr. Thomas Extejt, officiating. A luncheon
will follow at St. Ann’s hall after the burial.
Burial: St. Joseph Cemetery.
