Prep Hoops: Lake boys down Eastwood (2-18-11)

Lake’s boys pulled away in the fourth quarter to post a 61-54 win over Eastwood in Suburban Lakes League
play Friday.

In Northern Lakes League boys action it was: Bowling Green 58, Maumee 32; Perrysburg 62, Anthony Wayne
40; Springfield 59, Rossford 56; and Northview 52, Southview 51, OT.
In Midland Athletic League boys action it was: Tiffin Calvert 70, Lakota 35; and North Baltimore 51,
Mohawk 34.
In a Toledo Area Athletic Conference boys game it was: Toledo Christian 91, Northwood 52.
BOYS
Lake 61, Eastwood 54
In Luckey, Ra’Shad Smith scored 27 points to lead Lake past Eastwood.
Lake is 10-8 overall and 6-5 in the SLL while Eastwood is 6-11, 5-5.
Josh Tantari added 18 points for the Flyers and Devon Robinson contributed 12.
Justin Faykosh led Eastwood with 12 points, all on 3-pointers.
Gibsonburg 55, Genoa 39
In Genoa, Gibsonburg broke open with a close game with a 23-point fourth quarter on the way to the SLL
win.
Gibsonburg is 8-9 overall and 5-5 in the SLL while Genoa is 6-13, 1-10.
Gage Beaber scored 18 points for the Golden Bears and Nate Yarborough added 10.
Joey Newland scored 10 points for the Comets.
Springfield 59, Rossford 56
In Rossford, Chester McFadden scored 24 points to help Springfield edge Rossford in NLL play.
Springfield is 13-6, 8-5 while Rossford is 3-15, 1-12.
Mitchell Stewart scored 25 points and had 10 rebounds for the Bulldogs and Josh Perry added 16 points.

Northview 52, Southview 51, OT
In Sylvania, Joey DiPofi hit a 3-pointer with six seconds remaining in overtime to lift Northview past
crosstown-rival Sylvania. It was the only basket of the game for DiPofi.
Northview is 4-15 overall and 2-11 in the NLL. Southview is 11-8, 7-5.
Conner Hartnett led Northview with 14 points and Denzel Wheaton added 10.
Allen Gant scored 22 points for Southview and De’Nard Pinckney contributed 16.
Tiffin Calvert 70, Lakota 35
In Kansas, Calvert out-scored Lakota, 21-4 in the first quarter on the way to the MAL win.
Calvert is 15-3 overall and 9-1 in the MAL while Lakota is 0-17, 0-10.
Nick McDole scored 11 points for Lakota and Ryan Chalfin had 12 rebounds.
North Baltimore 52, Mohawk 34
In Sycamore, North Baltimore out-scored Mohawk, 31-19 in the second half on the way to the MAL win.
Parker Emahiser led NB with 16 points and 12 rebounds and Tyler Schloemp added 15 points.
Andrew Loose led Mohawk with 12 points.
NB is 8-10 overall and 4-6 in the MAL, while Mohawk is 4-13, 3-7.
Toledo Christian 91, Northwood 52
In Northwood, Toledo Christian scored 35 points in the first quarter on the way to the TAAC win over
Northwood.
The Eagles are 11-6 overall and 9-3 in the TAAC. The Rangers are 3-16, 2-9.
Nick Rightnowar scored 28 points for Toledo Christian.
