Air Force Falcons down BG Falcons
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — In a match that lasted nearly five-and-a-half hours, the Air Force Academy
picked up a 5-2 win over the Bowling Green tennis team.
The home team captured the doubles point, then won four of the six singles matches at the AFA Indoor
Courts.
BG is 6-3 on the season.
WKU baseball downs Falcons
BOWLING GREEN, Ky. — Western Kentucky downed Bowling Green, 12-1 in the Falcons’ baseball season opener
Friday.
The Falcons pushed a single run across the plate in the top of the eighth on an RBI single by pinch
hitter Jake Thomas.
BG men’s CC earns academic honor
Bowling Green’s men’s cross country team has earned all-academic honors from the United States Track and
Field and Cross Country Coaches’ Association (USTFCCCA).
The all-academic designation is the first for the Falcons since the 2001-2002 season.
The Falcons’ cumulative grade point average of 3.10 ranks fifth in the Mid-American Conference. A total
of nine MAC schools sponsor men’s cross country, and seven earned all-academic status.
To earn USTFCCCA all-academic team honors, a team must maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.00 or above and
must start at least five athletes in the team’s respective NCAA regional meet.
Falcons swimmers earn academic honor
Bowling Green’s swimming team has been recognized for its academic work by the College Swimming Coaches’
Association of America (CSCAA).
Bowling Green placed sixth nationally among NCAA Division I teams with a 3.53 grade point average. The
award is given to teams who achieve a cumulative GPA of 3.00 or above. In the fall semester, every
Falcon had a GPA of 2.80 or above, and four different swimmers carried perfect 4.0 averages.
