Art exhibit opens at Sam B’s
PRIZM will mark the opening of a new exhibit of work by 22 artists at Sam B’s Restaurant Gallery,163 S.
Main St., Bowling Green with a reception Friday from 8 to 10 p.m. Friday.
Works on display include two oils in antique frames by Timothy B. Johnson and a vase by acclaimed glass
artist Nadine Saylor. Other glass artists featured are David Kolasky, Toledo, and Les Robertson and
Joshua Haas, both of Perrysburg.
Jewelers exhibiting include Christine, Cathy Wile, Sandra Brady, and Michael Billmaier, who is also
showing wood vessels from exotic hardwoods. Local potters are represented by Adam Soboleski, who is
displaying three massive ceramic vessels as well as Katie Reid, Mary Anne Nicholson and Jeremy Anderson
who hand decorated large and small ceramic platters. Painters exhibiting are Michael Hall, Randy
Bennett, Jim Kujawa, Maureen DeRonge, Harry Daugherty and Emanuel Enriquez. Other work includes
sculpture by Barry Wood; photography by Tim Hacker and Elaine Fuchs; and Oriental monoprints by Bonnie
Allan.
This collaborative effort between PRIZM and Sam B’s is part of PRIZM’s Art in Public Places program. Many
of the works are for sale.
Owens screens ‘Persepolis’
Owens Community College will show the film "Persepolis" b. 15 at 2 p.m. in College Hall Room
100 on the Perrysburg Township campus..
The showing in conjunction with the college-wide read initiative focused on "Persepolis," the
book the film is based on. Both explores life in Iran during the Islamic Revolution of the 1970s through
the eyes of a young woman.
The screening will be followed by a brief discussion of the film and the memoir about to growing up in
Iran during the Islamic Revolution. Admission to the events is free and the public is encouraged to
attend.
Detroit comedian on stage
Detroit comedian Nate Fridson will headline Comedy Night Tuesday at 9 p.m. at Grumpy Dave’s, 104 S. Main
St., Bowling Green.
Open act is Matt McClowry
Tickets are $5 and $3 for students.
Impressionistic painting workshop hosted by PRIZM
PERRYSBURG – PRIZM will host two sessions of an Impressionism with Oils workshop, taught by Wauseon
artist Nora Sallows.
The workshops will be presented in Way Public Library Feb. 19 from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and Feb. 21 from 9
a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Each one-day session has a limit of 10 students. Registrants can register for both sessions. Cost per
session will be $ $35 for PRIZM members and $45 for guests. Registration is required and can be
