Bowling Green and Kent State play a key game in the Mid-American Conference East women’s basketball race
Saturday in Anderson Arena.
The Falcons, 23-4 overall, are first in the MAC East at 11-3 and Kent State, 19-7 overall, is 10-4 in
conference play. The Golden Flashes posted a 44-43 victory in the first meeting between the top teams.

Saturday’s game starts at noon and will be televised by SportsTime Ohio. BG concludes the regular season
on Wednesday hosting Buffalo.
"How fun is it? What a better scenario … You’re closing down Anderson Arena all-time. You have a
large and very talented senior class that has been a backbone of your program, and you get to play your
final two games in Anderson and they mean something. You are fighting for an East championship," BG
head coach Curt Miller said. "What a great way to go out if we could go 2-0 in Anderson Arena and
close it down the right way.
"It’s two of the best teams in the MAC East so we have our work cut out for us."
The Falcons have won six in a row, even with senior standouts Lauren Prochaska (foot) and Tracy Pontius
(knee) battling injuries.
Prochaska, the school’s career scoring leader, is averaging 18.1 points and 6.2 rebounds per game.
Pontius, 15th on BG’s all-time scoring list, is averaging 11.7 points and 3.6 assists per game.
The two have combined for 117 3-pointers this season.
Prochaska’s last 3-pointer was the game-winner with 0.2 seconds left in a 47-45 victory over Akron
Tuesday.
SCOUTING KENT: Kent State is coming off a strong second-half effort in a 68-62 win over Ohio on Wednesday
with four players scoring in double figures, including a double-double of 13 points and 16 rebounds from
Taisja Jones.
Jones, a 6-foot senior, is averaging 16.3 points and 6.1 rebounds per game. She has gone to the
free-throw line 174 times, making 137 (78.7 percent).
Jamilah Humes, a 5-8 senior, is averaging 14.5 points and 4.6 assists per game. She is second in the MAC,
averaging 2.62 steals per game.
