Prep Hoops: Lake boys defeat Genoa (2-25-11)

Lake had three players score in double figures en route to a 65-45 Suburban Lakes League win over Genoa
Friday.
In Northern Lakes League boys games, it was: Maumee 57, Perrysburg 45; and Anthony Wayne 53, Rossford 42.

The following boys games were postponed Friday:
Bowling Green at Southview, rescheduled for today with freshman starting at noon, followed by JV and
varsity;
Northview at Springfield, postponed to today with freshmen starting at 1:30 p.m., followed by JV and
varsity;
Otsego at Eastwood, postponed to today with freshmen starting at 10:30 a.m., followed by JV and varsity;

Elmwood at Gibsonburg, postponed to today with JV starting at noon;
North Baltimore at Old Fort, postponed to today, with JV starting at 6 p.m;
New Riegel at Lakota, postponed to today, starting at noon.
BOYS
Lake 65, Genoa 45
In Genoa, Ra’Shad Smith scored 17 points, Josh Tantari added 13 and Dylan Hirzel contributed 11 points
and 14 rebounds in Lake’s win.
The Flyers held a three-point lead entering the fourth quarter, but scored 24 points in the final eight
minutes.
Lake finished the regular season 12-8 overall and 7-5 in the SLL, while Genoa dropped to 6-14, 1-11.
Cole Welsh scored a game-high 23 points for the Comets, who were hurt by 20 turnovers and a 4-of-17
effort at the free-throw line.
Anthony Wayne 53, Rossford 42
In Rossford, Anthony Wayne out-scored Rossford, 16-8 in the fourth quarter on the way to the NLL win.
Mark Donnal scored 19 points and added five rebounds and two blocked shots for AW.
Mitchell Stewart scored 12 points and had seven rebounds for Rossford and Larry Sloan had 10 points and
eight rebounds.
AW is 7-12 overall and finishes 4-10 in the NLL. Rossford finishes 3-18, 1-13.
