BGSU softball drops to 0-5
BATON ROUGE, La. – The BGSU softball team lost three times over Saturday and Sunday at the LSU Tiger
Classic.
The Falcon lost twice on Saturday, 6-0 to 19th-ranked LSU; and 5-4 to Louisiana Tech. Purdue beat the
Falcons, 2-0 on Sunday. BG finished 0-5 at the tournament.
In the loss to Louisiana Tech, Adrienne Dick hit a two-run home run, and Hannah Fulk went 2-for-3 with a
run batted in.
The Falcons managed just seven hits in the two shutout losses.
Falcon tennis posts victory
FORT WAYNE, Ind. – Bowling Green’s women’s tennis team improved to 6-2 in dual matches with a 5-2 victory
over Indiana-Purdue-Fort Wayne on Saturday.
Falcon women compete at Akron
AKRON – Sophomore sprinter Jeanette Pettigrew set the Bowling Green record in the 60-meter dash at the
Akron Invitational on Saturday.
Pettigrew finished in a time of 7.47 for second place in the meet, which did not keep team scores. Her
time broke the previous school record of 7.51.
Barbara Powers, a BGHS graduate, was second in the mile run in a time of 5:05.2, which was her season
best.
Other top finishers for BG were: Heather Conger, third, 800, 2:14.9; Brittani McNeal, fourth, 200, 25.4;
Jessie Rowland, third, weight throw, 57-53â„4; and Janelle Campbell, fifth, triple jump, 351â„4.
Owens women win in overtime
The Owens Community College women’s basketball team defeated 12th-ranked Cincinnati State, 96-92 in
overtime on Saturday.
The Express, ranked 19th in NJCAA Division II, improved to 23-4 overall and 8-1 in the Ohio Community
College Athletic Conference. Cincinnati is 17-8, 8-1.
Leaders for Owens were: Aja Hall, 26 points, nine rebounds; Jasmine Blanton, 16 points, eight rebounds,
five assists; and Saige Meyer and Hailey Galvan, 12 points each.
Galvan set the Owens’ single-game block record with 11 in the game.
Owens men lose
Owens’ men’s basketball team fell to Cincinnati State, 96-82 on Saturday. The Express are 8-18 overall
and 2-7 in the OCCAC. Cincinnati State is 79-8, 6-3.
Leaders for Owens were: Cal Edwards, 19 points, eight rebounds; Tommy Kralovic, 19 points; Jerron
Jamerson, 11 points; and Craig Short, 10 points, seven rebounds. Kralovic is a Rossford High School
graduate.
Elmwood boosters to meet
JERRY CITY – The Elmwood athletic boosters will meet Wednesday at 7 p.m. in the high school media center.

Big Buck winners announced
Mike Tyson of Mike’s Party Mart in Bowling Green has announced the 2010 Big Buck award winners.
Perrysburg’s Ryan Petree bagged the largest buck ever checked at Mike’s Party Mart, with a 29-point buck
with a 22-inch spread that was bagged on Dec. 14.
In the bow category, Rick Strickland took the largest with a 14-point buck with a 205â„8 spread. In the
gun category, Daniel Gutherie had the biggest buck with a 10-pointer with a 201â„4 spread. In the
muzzleloader category, Doug Vestal had the largest with an 8-pointer with a 19 spread.
