Rudolph teen seeks help after being bitten by pit bull

A woman was taken to Wood County Hospital after she was attacked by a dog in Custar Tuesday morning.
The incident was reported at 10:56 a.m. According to the Wood County Sheriff’s Office, at a residence in
the 9000 block of Custar Road, a 19-year-old Rudolph resident had let out her chihuahua puppy and saw a
light brown dog, which appeared to be a pit bull, enter the yard.
The stray dog played with her puppy, but when the woman later went to pick the puppy up, the pit bull
growled. She told police she wasn’t concerned because her family had pit bulls in the past.
The pit bull reportedly attacked as she walked away. The teen ran into the house, then went to the
hospital with her mother.
She reportedly sustained puncture wounds on her left forearm, shin and foot.
The sheriff’s department later learned that the Wood County Dog Warden had captured the dog. A copy of
the incident report was to be forwarded to the warden for follow-up.
