BG Swim Club finishes fourth

SYLVANIA – The Bowling Green Swim Club finished fourth in the 16 -team Northwest Ohio Invitational.
BG scored 1,686.5 points. The Sylvania Tsunami Club was first with 3,320 points.
BG’s Alyssa Decker, 12-year-old girls, took first in five events and second in another.
Decker took first in the 200 butterfly (2:31.8), 100 backstroke (1:09.6), 200 breast stroke (2:50.7), 200
freestyle (2:09.4), and 100 freestyle (58.4). She was second in the 200 individual medley (2:23.7).
Emmy Sehmann, 13 girls, took first in four events and second in five events.
Sehmann won the 100 backstroke (1:03.1), 500 freestyle (5:21.1), 200 freestyle (1:59.2), and 100
freestyle (55.5). She was second in the 50 freestyle (25.8), 200 individual medley (2:18.9), 100 breast
stroke (1:14.5), 200 backstroke (2:17.8), and 400 individual medley (4:58.0).
Ilya Fedorchuk, 12 boys, was first in the 100 butterfly (1:12.0), 200 individual medley (2:31.4), and 500
freestyle (5:56.0). He was also second in the 50 freestyle (28.4).
Christian Sobczak, 13 boys, was first in the 100 backstroke (1:00.5) and 200 breast stroke (2:32.5). He
earned second in the 200 butterfly (2:21.9) and 200 individual medley (2:12.2).
Jack Burroughs, 10 boys, earned a total of three second-place finishes and six third-place finishes.
Burroughs earned second-place in the 50 freestyle (29.9), 100 breast stroke (1:27.7), and 100 freestyle
(1:06.0).
The 11-12 boys 200 medley relay team of Tucker Pendleton, Jacob Sobczak, Fedorchuk and Zach Bozigar was
first in a time of 2:24.1.
The boys 8-and-under 100 medley relay team of Zack Moon, Cayden Seither, Calvin Price and Sean Cavins was
second in a time of 2:08.4. The same team was second in the 100-freestyle relay in a time of 1:30.7.
The 11-12 girls 200 freestyle relay team of Kaylee Fair, Jenna Castor, Ndiffer, and Decker was third in a
time of 2:05.4.
Other top individual finishers for BG were: Brigid Cavins, 10 girls, second, 100 breast stroke, 1:27.0,
and third, 50 breast stroke, 40.6; Mallory Glenn, 14 girls, third, 200 breastroke, 2:40.5; Desi Ndiffer,
12 girls; Tucker Pendleton, 12 girls, third, 200-individual medley, 2:40.1, and third, 50 backstroke,
34.0; Corinne Staneart, 8 girls, second, 25 freestyle, 17.1; second, 25 breast stroke, 23.8; third, 50
butterfly, 49.4, and third, 50 backstroke, 50.0.
