Prep Roundup: Eastwood girls record first SLL victory (02-08-11)

Courtney Rolf scored 20 points and pulled down 16 rebounds to lead Eastwood past Gibsonburg, 53-35 in a
Suburban Lakes League makeup game Monday.
It was Eastwood’s first SLL win of the season. The Eagles are now 2-15 overall and 1-9 in the SLL.
Gibsonburg is 3-14, 1-7.
Katey Dushane led Gibsonburg with 10 points and Rachel Reynolds had eight rebounds.

Patrick Henry 62, Otsego 42
In Tontogany, PH’s Shane Bostelman and Kent Teitje each scored 14 points en route to the non-league
victory.
Kolby Seeman added 10 points for the Patriots, now 10-5.
A.C. Limes led Otsego (4-11) with 14 points.

Eastwood still undefeated
At Port Clinton Eastwood remained undefeated pushing its record to 12-0, 10-0 in the Sandusky Bay Area
Bowling Conference, with a 2,557-2,197 win over Port Clinton on Friday.
The Eagles were led by Mikayla Young’s 213 and 207games for 420. Brandi Roller rolled added 190 and 198
for 388.
Bobcats top New Riegel
At Al-Mar on Saturday, Bowling Green defeated New Riegel 1,986-1,541 in a non-conference match to remain
undefeated.
Denise Miller led the Bobcats with a 213 game and 377 total. Eclipse Stockwell bowled 195 for 363. Kelsey
Parker added a 207 game.

Eastwood ready to clinch
At Port Clinton, as the Sandusky Bay Area Bowling Conference, Eastwood is ready to clinch the National
division title with a 2-game lead following its Friday win over Port Clinton, 2,758-2,732 at Harbor
Lanes on Friday. Only two matches remain in the league season.
Derek Rucki led the Eagles (11-2, 10-1) with games of 237 and 209 for 446; as Tommy Blanchard added 207,
387. Kyle Waynick notched a 214.
BG beats Fostoria
On Saturday, Bowling Green defeated Fostoria 2,680-2,337, in a non-conference match. The Bobcats are 7-1
in the Northern Lakes League and 9-3 overall.
Nick Jenne led the team with games of 224 and 256 for 480; while Juan Ybanes added a 257 for 465. Jon
Saddler bowled a 221 game. Alex Cornell was high for Fostoria with a 235, 435.

Eastwood’s boys (9-2, 8-2) lost to Port Clinton, 2,578-2,182. John Fredericks led Eastwood with 198, 362.

Eastwood’s girls stayed perfect (4-0) with a victory over Port Clinton, 1,695-1,528. Sarah Knott led the
Eagles with 162, 301.
Fostoria defeated Bowling Green, 1,713-1,348. Fostoria’s Travis Kille was high with 207, 383. Timo
Anderson led BG with a 301 total.

GIRLS BASKETBALL
Lake defeated Eastwood, 25-14 in the SLL tournament. Leaders for Eastwood were: Alexis Cooper and
Mackenzie Albright. Lake’s leaders were in Monday’s Sentinel-Tribune.
Perrysburg is now 7-1 over a 39-13 win over Findlay Central. Taylin Hunter led the Yellow Jackets with
nine points.
Jefferson beat Bowling Green, 24-22. Stephanie Savoy led BG with 18 points.

GIRLS BASKETBALL
Eastwood has reached the SLL tournament title game.
In the first round, the Eagles defeated Elmwood 41-25. The Eagles were led by Reagan Boice with 12 points
while Jaci Juergens and Maddie Kemner each added seven points.
In the second round, the Eagles defeated Otsego, 38-32. The Eagles were led by Boice with 15 points and
Juergens with eight points.
Bowling Green beat Jefferson, 43-25. Hailey Maas, Libby Dill, Kaleigh Strausbaugh and Tyanna Smith were
BG’s leaders.

BOYS BASKETBALL
St. Aloysius is 4-3 after dropping a 48-21 decision to Toledo Regina Coeli. Leading scorers for St.
Aloysius were: Austin Thurman, 12 points; and Michael Rochester, six points.
Lake defeated Woodmore, 44- 32 to improve to 10-0. Aaron Witt scored 18 points for the Flyers while Adam
Duncan and Brandyn Neal each added 10.
Gibsonburg beat Eastwood 35-21. Jonathan Bowlus and Josh Harper were Eastwood’s leaders.

BOYS BASKETBALL
Lake is now 9-1 after beating Woodmore 52-25. Jared Rettig scored 18 points for the Flyers and Connor
Bowen scored 16.
BOWLING
Bowling Green swept two junior high matches from Fostoria 2,212-1,717 and 1,928-1,319. High bowlers for
Bowling Green included Chase Ferguson, 208 and190 for 398 on the first team and Lucas Jenne and Alex
Noble, both with 357 totals on the second team.
