Falcon women enter homestretch (02-15-11)

It’s the homestretch for Bowling Green women’s basketball team.
The Falcons, 20-4 overall and alone in first place the Mid-American Conference East at 8-3, have five
regular-season games remaining.
"We’re back in what we call the fourth quarter," BG head coach Curt Miller said Monday.
"The seniors can actually see the light at the end of the tunnel for their career, so there is a
sense of urgency.
"We like our position record-wise … but we certainly want to be playing better basketball. We need
to be playing better basketball if some of our dreams and aspirations are going to come true,"
Miller continued. "We have a lot of hard work ahead of us."
Miller said there are only 10 regular season practices remaining.
PROCHASKA: After wearing a protective boot to help ease the pain in her left foot last week, BG standout
Lauren Prochaska scored 37 points and added 12 rebounds while playing all 40 minutes in the Falcons’
60-55 win over Eastern Michigan Saturday. She also played a strong defensive game, shutting down EMU’s
Cassie Schrock.
"Lauren, obviously, felt as good as she has in a while," Miller said. "The week in the
boot did well so we’re continuing the same philosophy … to try to keep her off her foot as much as
possible."
SCOUTING OHIO: Bowling Green hosts Ohio University Wednesday with tipoff at 7 p.m.
The contest is a Pink Zone game in support of breast cancer awareness. All fans are encouraged to wear
pink to the game in support of the initiative.
The Falcons will be wearing special pink T-shirts during pre-game warmups, and the first 1,000 fans will
receive a free pink T-shirt as well.
Ohio University is 7-17 overall and 3-8 in the MAC East after a 68-48 loss to Toledo.
Tenishia Benson, a 5-foot-9 junior, is averaging 13 points and 7.5 rebounds per game.
Shavon Robinson, a 5-8 freshman, has come on strong in MAC play and is averaging 10.6 ppg in 11
conference games.
The Falcons beat the Bobcats, 66-54, in the MAC opener on Jan. 5. Prochaska scored 23 points in the win
and Maggie Hennegan added 16.
