RISINGSUN – A rural Risingsun man was awakened by smoke alarms Sunday afternoon and escaped from his
burning home at 8366 Bradner Road in eastern Wood County.
Timothy Strawman was uninjured but his home was destroyed. The fire was reported about 12:40 p.m.
Risingsun fire officials are blaming a woodburning stove for the blaze left Strawman homeless in
15-degree temperatures.
Units from Risingsun, Bradner and Wayne were called to the scene, along with Wood County Sheriff’s
deputies.
