Bowling Green takes a 13-game winning streak into its Mid-American Conference home opener Saturday.
The Falcons, 13-1 overall, face Miami with tipoff at 2 p.m.
The Falcons are coming off a 66-54 win at Ohio in their MAC opener Wednesday.
Senior Lauren Prochaska led the Falcons with 23 points at Ohio, the 104th double-digit scoring game of
her 116-game BG career.
She has scored 20 or more points 42 times as a Falcon.
Prochaska is averaging 20.2 points a game, second in the MAC. Prochaska also leads the team in rebounding
(90) and is second in steals (24) and assists (37).
Senior Tracy Pontius is the only other Falcon, averaging in double figures at 13.0 ppg.
She leads the team in assists (58) and steals (25).
MIAMI: Miami, 8-6 overall, dropped a 76-62 decision to Kent State in its MAC opener. Kent State closed
the game on an 18-7 run.
Sophomore forward Kirsten Olowinski, 6-foot-1, paced Miami against Kent State with her fifth
double-double of the season, notching a team-high 13 points and collecting a game-high 14 rebounds.
Courtney Osborn, a 5-10 sophomore, is averaging 17.7 ppg for the RedHawks. Maggie Boyer, a 5-11 junior,
and Rachael Hencke, a 6-1 junior, are also averaging in double figures at 13.5 and 10.2 points per game,
respectively.
"Knowing their roster as well as we do, they have as good of a backcourt at the mid-major level as
there is in the country," BG head coach Curt Miller said. "They are led by outstanding
sophomore Countney Osborn.
"They have great length at the wing position with kids who are able to make threes. They just keep
talented guards on the floor and their post play is very underrated.
"Top to bottom, they have the deepest roster in the league."
MILLER: The game at Ohio was the 300th of Miller’s career at Bowling Green. The Falcons are 219-81 during
Miller’s tenure.
