Eugene R. McGill, age 82, of Pemberville, OH, passed away on Sunday, January 16, 2011 at his residence.
On February 23, 1928 he was born in Defiance, OH to John and Mary (O’Neill) McGill. He married Virginia
E. Newmiller on June 6, 1987 in Pemberville, OH, and she preceded him in death on October 19, 2008.
Eugene was a laborer for Johns Manville Company, Defiance, OH, and retired in 1990.
He served his country honorably during the Korean War while enlisted in the Army. His memberships
include: Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Pemberville, OH, and a life member of Pemberville American Legion
Freedom Post #183. He was an avid Detroit Tigers fan.
Surviving Eugene are his son: Kenneth (Sandy) McGill of Westerville, OH, daughter: Kim (Jerry) Feeney of
Maumee, OH, six grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and two sisters. He was preceded in death by
his parents: John and Mary McGill, wife: Virginia, one sister and nine brothers.
Family and friends will be received on Wednesday, January 19, 2011 from
2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at Marsh Funeral Home, 4094 State Route 105, Pemberville, OH. Funeral services
will be conducted on Thursday, January 20, 2011 at 11 a.m. from Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Pemberville,
OH, where additional visitation will be from 10 a.m. until services. Officiating will be Rev. Matthew
Musteric.
Interment will be in Pemberville Cemetery, Pemberville, OH. There will be a bereavement luncheon served
at the church immediately following the cemetery committal services.
