Trio leads BG swimmers at Napoleon

The Bowling Green Swim Club’s Corinne Staneart, Christian Sobczak and Emmy Sehman were each individual
high-point earners at the NAC Valentine Invitational in Napoleon.
Staneart, 8-and-under girls, finished with 51 points; Sehman, 13-14 girls, had 62 points; and Sobczak,
13-14 boys, had 64 points.
As a team, the BG girls were third out of nine teams with 237 points. The Greater Toledo Aquatic Club was
first with 379 points.
The BG boys were fourth out of nine teams with 183 points. The Findlay Area swim team took first with 399
points.
Combined, BG was fourth with 420 points. Greater Toledo took the overall title with 723.5 points.
Sobczak took first in the 400-medley (4:45.2) and the 100-backstroke (1:00.0). He was second in the
200-freestyle (2:02.3), 50-freestyle (25.0), 200-medley (2:15.8), 100-freestyle (55.7) and 500-freestyle
(5:34.7). He was third in the 100-butterfly (1:05.3).
Sehman was first in the 200-freestyle (1:58.3), 100-backstroke (1:03.2) and 500-freestyle (5:16.6). She
was second in the 50-freestyle (25.9), 100-freestyle (56.5) and 100-breaststroke (1:15.4); and also took
third in the 200-medley (2:19.5).
Staneart was first in the 25-backstroke (21.5) and 25-freestyle (18.2). She was second in the
100-freestyle (1:29.4), 25-butterfly (21.3) and 25-breaststroke (23.9). She took third in the 100-medley
(1:43.7) and 50-freestyle (40.1).
Other top finishers for BG’s boys were: Jack Burroughs, 10-year old, first in the 100-medley (1:19.5) and
50-breastroke (41.3), and second in the 100-freestyle (1:07.1); Sean O’Donnell, 10-year old, first in
the 50-butterfly (42.6), second in the 50-breaststroke (43.1), and third in the 200-freestyle (2:44.6);
and Tucker Pendleton, 12-year old, third in the 200-medley (2:35.8) and the 100-freestyle (1:04.0).
Also for BG’s girls, Alyssa Decker, 13-year old, was third in the 100-butterfly (1:05.2).
