Owens staging ‘Tartuffe’
Owens Community College students and graduates will stage Moliere’s 17th century French comedy
"Tartuffe," Friday and Saturday and continuing April 15 and 16 at 7:30 p.m. and April 17 at 3
p.m. in the Mainstage Theatre, Oregon Road, Perrysburg Township. Curtain time is 7:30 p.m.
"Tartuffe" tells the story about how a pious imposter almost succeeds in his plot to jail a
naïve friend and his family and cheat them out of their home.
The play is directed by Owens instructor Jeremy Meier. Among those in the cast are: Zack Doane and
Rachael Mendieta, both of Bowling Green and Jordan Jarvis and Andy Sweney, both of Perrysburg.

Artists from BG receive state awards
Three artists living in Bowling Green have received individual excellence awards each worth $5,000 for
their work from the Ohio Arts Council.
Receiving awards were:
¥ Elainie Lillios, a composer of electronic and multimedia works.
¥ Masako Onodera, a sculptor and metalworker
¥ Joseph Pintz, a ceramics artist.
PRIZM hosts art exhibit
MAUMEE – Works by artists from PRIZM are on display through April at Georgette’s, 311 Conant St. during
normal business hours of 6:30 a.m. through 3 p.m. weekdays and Saturday from 8-4 p.m.
A percentage from the sales from the exhibit will benefit Sunshine Inc. of Northwest Ohio.
Art on display includes: depictions of birds, wildlife, and cats by Lylanne Musselman; stylized monotype
prints by Bonnie Allan; water colors and prints of local scenes by Mary McNamara; oil paintings by Kitty
Pattay ; and pastel portraits by Nancy Stonerock and Ronnie Gebolys.

Weston student to play Picasso at Ashland U
ASHLAND – Ashland University junior, Michael Cook, a resident of Weston, portrays Pablo Picasso in Steve
Martin’s comedy "Picasso at the Lapin".
Cook is the son of William Mosely and Jennifer Cook, of Weston, and is majoring in theater.
"Picasso at the Lapin Agile" opens Friday and continues Saturday and April 15, and 16, all at
7:30 p.m. and April 17 at 2 p.m.

Musicians earn gold cups
Two violin students of Grace Baker, Bowling Green, earned gold cups at the Federation of Music Cubs
competition held recently at Heidelburg College in Tiffin.
Angel Thompson earned a unanimous superior and gold cup for her performance of the Thais Meditations. She
will now compete in the state competition in Columbus. She also recently participated in the fine arts
festival at Dayspring Assembly of God, Bowling Green. She is the daughter of Patty and Jeff Thompson of
Custar.
Also Calathea Burns earned a gold cup as well as two cups in piano, which she studies with Walter Baker.
She is the daughter of Tina and Jim Burns, Holgate.
