Mary L. Wagner, age 91, of Bradner, Ohio, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Saturday
(February 19, 2011) at Independence House Nursing Home in Fostoria, Ohio.
She was born on August 2, 1919 in Tiffin, Ohio to the late Carl & Hilda (Swope) Smith. She
married LaRoy James Wagner on December 24, 1955 in Bradner and he passed away on March 20, 1996.
Surviving are son, Dennis L. (Connie Molter – Fianceé) Wagner of Bradner; grandchildren, Vikki (Ken)
Riess of Clermont, Florida, Alison Jones of Colorado Springs, Colorado, Eric Boyd of Richfield, Ohio;
great-grandchildren, Brian Gilbert of Clermont, Florida, Ryan and Erin Jones of Colorado Springs,
Colorado; nephews, Vernon Beard, Jr., Edward Beard, David Smith, Gary Smith, William Anspach, Jr.,
Robert Anspach; nieces, Charlotte Shumaker and Martha Holman.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son, Gordon G. (Carol – dec.) Boyd;
step-daughter Karen Ann Wagner; brother, Edward O. (Lola – dec.) Smith; sisters, Marjorie (Vernon, Sr. –
dec.) Beard and Evelyn (William – dec.) Anspach.
Mary retired after 31 years at Ford Motor Co. in Fostoria.
She was affiliated with St. James Lutheran Church in Bradner, Ohio.
Friends will be received from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday (February 22, 2011) at Barndt Funeral Home in Wayne,
Ohio, where a Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday (February 23, 2011) with
Pastor Melanie Haack officiating. Burial will be in Bradner Cemetery with a bereavement luncheon to
follow at St. James Lutheran Church.
