Local vocal sensation Abby Paskvan is a finalist for a Southern Gospel Music Fan Award as Young Excelling
Individual and local fans can help her win.
Voters can log in at www.christianvoicemagazine.com/sgmvote.html and cast their vote for the 15-year-old
Bowling Green High School freshman.
Fans have through March 31 to vote in this and a number of other categories. The winner will be announced
May 5 at the Smoky Mountain Convention Center in Pigeon Forge, Tenn, during the week of Southern Gospel
Music FanFair.
Paskvan, the daughter of Rebecca and Brian Paskevan, has been busy. She released her first CD last year
and will return to Pigeon Forge in April to record her second CD. Her music is being played on many
Christian radio stations in the south and southern Ohio, and was recently interviewed live by a radio
station in Illinois.
She sang on a Carnival Cruise line last July to Alaska and has been asked to go on the same cruise again
in 2012 performing on the ship each day. She will be singing again with the Bowling Green Area Community
Band in the spring and also sang with them this past Christmas season.
Her weekends are spent traveling at various churches and performing for fundraisers and charity events
such as the Special Olympics this past weekend. She still performs the National Anthem at many of the
BGSU sporting events, the Walleye Hockey Team and the Toledo Mudhens.
