Perrysburg chorale to sing folk songs from many lands
PERRYSBURG – The Perrysburg Symphony Chorale will perform "Folksongs Around the World" in two
performances this weekend.
On Friday at 7 p.m., the chorale, conducted by Wayne Anthony, will sing in Trinity Episcopal Church in
downtown Toledo, at the corner of Adams and St. Clair. Tickets are $10 and $5 for students and seniors.

Sunday at 2 p.m., the chorale will offer a free performance at the Way Public Library in Perrysburg.
There will be a craft activity for the children, and refreshments, after the concert.
The performances will feature beautiful arrangements of folk songs from Australia, Canada, the South
Pacific, Latvia, Slovakia, Macedonia, Scotland, and America.
The ensemble will perform both unaccompanied and with Charles Brown at the keyboard.
Featured soloists will be: Marsha Cochran on Saskatchewan’s "Woodriver"; Pam Williams-Rumer on
Macedonia’s "Tatkovina"; Chuck Kiskaddon in Cape Breton Island’s "Song for the
Mira"; and Chuck Dennison in Scotland’s "Loch Lomond".

Ethnomusicologists to meet for conference at BGSU
The Midwest Chapter of the Society for Ethnomusicology’s conference "Music in Everyday Use,"
will be held Friday through Sunday at Bowling Green State University.
The conference will feature 60 paper presentations starting with a session Friday 12:45 p.m. and
continuing through Sunday in the Bowen -Thompson Student Union on campus.
Topics include the role of music in recent protests in the Middle East, opera, karaoke, Bruce
Springsteen, and Parrotheads, the diehard fans of Jimmy Buffett.
Dr. Harris M. Berger, the president of the Society for Ethnomusicology, will deliver the keynote address
"Stance and Meaning in Music" Saturday from 6 to 7 p.m. in room 308 of the student union.
That will be followed by a performance by the Asian rock group Dzian! and BGSU’s own Game and Anime Music
Ensemble (GAME) from 8:30 to 11:30 p.m. the theater in the student union.
Matt Donahue, of BGSU, will present a lecture-demonstration on the electric guitar Saturday at 1 p.m. A
Community Contradance fundraiser for Habitat for Humanity will be held Friday from 7:30 to 10 p.m. at
the old church building, 123 E. Court in downtown Bowling Green.
Horizon Youth Theatre casting musical ‘Alice’
The Horizon Youth Theatre will hold auditions for "Alice in Wonderland, the Musical" Monday and
Tuesday from 4 to 6 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church, 1526 E. Wooster, Bowling Green.
Callbacks will be Thursday, April 14 from 4 to 6 p.m.
Those auditioning for the cast should be age 8 through 18 and those interviewing for crew should be 10
through 18.
The production will be directed by Cassie Guion, with musical direction by Matthew Guion and choreography
by Bob Marzola.
Rehearsals will begin April 18 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church, 315 S. College,
Bowling Green. The play will be staged in the evening June 10 and 11 and a matinee June 12.

Eddie Money to perform in Findlay’s CUBE Saturday
FINDLAY – Rocker Eddie Money will perform Saturday at 7:30 p.m. in the Huntington Bank Arena at the CUBE,
3430 N. Main St., Findlay.
Money scored hits in the late 1970s and 1980s with "Baby Hold On," "Two Tickets to
Paradise, "Shakin’" and "Think I’m in Love."
Local cover band Tongue ‘N’ Grove will open for Money.
Tickets are $30 and $28 for seniors, students and children.

TOLEDO – The national tour of the musical comedy "Church Basement Ladies – Second Helping" will
be presented Tuesday at 2 and 7 p.m. at the Stranahan Theater.
