TUESDAY
"Reflections in a Golden Eye," a 1967 film directed by John Huston, based on a novel by Carson
McCullers and starring Marlon Brando and Elizabeth Taylor, will be screened at 7:30 p.m. in the Gish
Film Theater in Hanna Hall.
Mexican glassblowers Einar and Jamex de la Torre will talk about their work at 6 p.m. in the School of
Art as part of a weeklong residency in the glassworks. (See story this page.)
THURSDAY
The 2007 Korean film "Milyang (Secret Sunshine)," will be screened at 7:30 p.m. in Gish Film
Theater.
Visiting fiction writer Laura van den Berg will read from her work at 7:30 p.m. in Prout Chapel. The
author of "What the World Will Look Like When All the Water Leaves Us," she was chosen for the
Barnes and Noble "Discover New Writers" program.
FRIDAY
The photo-documentary exhibit by John Ruebartsch and Sally Kuzma "Here, There and Elsewhere: Refugee
Families in Milwaukee" opens in Bowling Green State University’s Bowen-Thompson Student Union
Gallery. Preceding an opening reception, a panel discussion will take place from 3-5 p.m. in 315 Union
on the exhibit, refugees and refugee issues. The exhibit runs through April 3.
"The Last Feminist Standing: A Night of Comedy" begins at 7 p.m. in the Black Swamp Pub in the
Bowen-Thompson Student Union. Emcee Diane DePasquale will host a show featuring Lucé Tomlin-Brenner, a
2006 BGSU alumna with fellow comedians Kari-Anne Innes, Chanelle Vigue and Ann Weedon.
SATURDAY
The creator of the much-loved characters "biscuit" and "Katy Duck" will be the
featured author at the annual Joseph and Judith Conda Family Literacy in the Park for children and
families from from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the Lenhart Grand Ballroom of the student union.
A juried selection of thesis art from graduating Bachelor of Fine Arts students opens in the Willard
Wankelman and Dorothy Uber Bryan galleries of the Fine Arts Center. The evening begins with a 6:30 p.m.
video and animation screening in 204 Fine Arts Center, followed by an opening reception from 7:30-8 p.m.
in the lobby and an awards presentation at 8 p.m. The exhibit will run through April 3. Gallery hours
are 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday-Saturday, 6-9 p.m. Thursdays and from 1-4 p.m. Sundays. Free.
SUNDAY
"How Green Was My Valley", starring Walter Pidgeon, Maureen O’Hara, Roddy McDowell and Donald
Crisp and directed by John Ford, will be shown at 3 p.m. as part of the Gish Film Theater’s Sunday
Matinee Series.
MARCH 22
The 1971 film exploring the sexual revolution "Carnal Knowledge," starring Jack Nicholson, Art
Garfunkel, Ann-Margret and Candice Bergen and directed by Mike Nichols, , will be shown at 7:30 p.m. in
Gish Theater.
