Bistro hosts bellydance show
A bellydance showcase and dinner presented dancer Laura Shakti’s Radiance Studio and the Naslada Bistro
will be staged Saturday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the restaurant, 182 S. Main St.
The event will feature dancing by Malaika Tanith and Zakhara Naar and a three-course Bulgarian dinner.

BG chorus, Toledo symphony to perform Mahler’s Third
TOLEDO – The Bowling Green State University Women’s Chorus will join the Toledo Symphony in performances
of Gustav Mahler’s monumental Third Symphony Friday and Saturday at 8 p.m. in the Toledo Museum of Art
Peristyle.
Principal conductor Stefan Sanderling will lead the symphony BGSU chorus and the Junior Choral Society of
Northwest Ohio. Suzanna Guzmán will be the featured mezzo-soprano.
Mahler’s Third Symphony has been likened to transforming all of nature into music.

Happy Badger jam session set
The Happy Badger, 331 North Main St., Bowling Green, will host an acoustic jam gathering Friday from 7 to
9:30 p.m.
The session will be led by The Cottonwood Jam String Band.

Players casting Twain plays
The Black Swamp Players will hold auditions for its production of two Mark Twain short plays Oct. 4 at 2
p.m. or Oct. 5 at 7 p.m. at First United Methodist Church, East Wooster Street, Bowling Green.
The Players will present "Twain by the Tale" adapted by Dennis Snee and "Mark Twain’s The
Diary of Adam and Eve" adapted by Mark Bucci
The cast requires two boys and one girl to play Tom Sawyer, Huck Finn, and Becky Thatcher; one young
adult male and one young adult female to play Adam and Eve; and four adult males and thee adult females
for various parts. Lighting, sound and costumes crew also needed.

Mosaic art class offered
GRAND RAPIDS – A Mosaic Art Class held every Tuesday in October from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Wesleyan Church,
17659 Woodburn Ave.
Participants will choose one of three projects: a one-of-a-kind small mosaic window for $40, a large
window for $95, or a patio-type table for $50. All supplies, except the tables, will be provided.
Class will be taught by Gail Christofferson Works, Animal House Glass.

Prizm sponsors Carruth tour
Prizm Creative Community is sponsoring a tour of sculptor George Carruth’s studio in Waterville Tuesday
starting at 10:30 a.m.
Tour participants should meet at the Studio at 1178 Farnsworth Road at 10:15 a.m. The tour will last
approximately an hour and a half ending at the Garden Smiles retail store in Waterville where
refreshments will be served.

Indiana painter’s work shown
FINDLAY – "Life as I See It," an exhibit of Indiana paintings by John Wade III, will open at
the Owens Community College Findlay-area Campus Library Gallery Monday and continue through Oct. 22.
