Bittersweet Farms hosting Oct. 10 Pumpkin Bake-off

WHITEOUSE – Bittersweet, Inc., in conjunction with their annual fall festival, Fall on the Farm, is
hosting a Pumpkin Bake-off on Oct. 10. Entries will be accepted for any baked goods that use pumpkin or
pumpkin seeds.
Interested persons can obtain an entry form by going to www.bittersweetfarms.org or by calling for one to
be mailed at (419) 875-6986, ext 1241.
There is a $5 entry fee.
Prizes will be awarded for Best Presentation, Best Tasting, Most Original and Grand Champion. Judges will
be local celebrities and food experts.
Entrants are asked, but not required, to bring a duplicate of their entry that could be used as a bake
sale item whose proceeds would benefit Bittersweet, Inc.
The Pumpkin Bake-off is one of the activities of Fall on the Farm, an all-day event on the grounds of
Bittersweet Farms, 12660 Archbold-Whitehouse Road, on Oct. 10, a Saturday, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Proceeds from the event go to sponsor programs of Bittersweet Farms, a farm based homestead that provides
services to adolescents and adults with autism.
There will also be a number of activities that are representative of the culture of Bittersweet Farms and
its farm roots. They include: original art and craft booths, live music, an informational session on
home grown vegetable gardening, children’s games, fun food, hay rides, a scarecrow design contest, straw
maze and more.
Admission to the event is free; parking on the grounds is $5 per car.
