Arts in Common exhibiting digital work by four artists
The artwork of four local artists will be featured in the Digital Art Show to be held at the Arts in
Common Gallery, 437 South Main St., Bowling Green. during September.
The show will include the art of Craig Blair, Anna Buntain, Susan Krueger and Bob Midden.
An opening reception will be held Sept. 4 from 5 to 7 p.m.
The show will explore the different ways that the four artists approach the use of digital art as a fine
art.
For Blair, who spent most of his life as a surrealist oil painter, digital art is an exciting new medium
that allows his surrealist imagination to run wild.
Krueger combines her own digitally produced fabric images with other fiber techniques that include
appliqué, batik, embroidery and quilting.
She regards digital media as another type of tool that is available for today’s artists. One of her
quilts was recently included in the Quilt National.
Midden is a digital photographer who sometimes likes to use the computer to manipulate his images.
"I am in the early stages of the evolution of discovering what matters and what doesn’t matter.
What is matter and what is not matter. These photos are part of the first stage of that evolution."

Buntain is a painter, photographer and collage artist. For this show she created collage from images that
the other artists gave her. "Each of the artists that I’m participating with in this show have very
distinct pictorial elements in their work," she states, " I wanted to see what would happen if
my artistic vision invaded theirs."
The show will run through Sept. 27. Gallery hours are Thursday 1 to 4 p.m., Friday 4 to 7p.m. and
Saturday 1 to 4 p.m.
