Near-drowning at BG pool
Bowling Green EMS was called to the Bowling Green Family Aquatic Complex shortly after 6 Thursday night
after a youngster nearly drowned.
According to Parks and Recreation Director Michelle Grigore, a young boy was unresponsive when lifeguards
pulled him from the pool. CPR was initiated, and the boy was responsive when paramedics arrived. He was
transported to the hospital.
She said she has been told he is alert and active.
Grigore said this morning she is interviewing lifeguards who were on duty at the time.
Lemoyne Road closed for work
Starting Monday, Lemoyne Road between Truman Road and Ohio 20 will be closed for bridge replacement work.
The closure is expected to last six weeks.
Car wash is Relay fundraiser
The Wood County Hospital Lab’s Relay for Life team is holding a car wash on Saturday to raise money to
support cancer research.
The car wash will be from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Bowling Green Clinic, located at the corner of Poe and
Haskins roads across from the Wood County Fair Grounds.
Fostoria library offers resumé workshop
The Kaubisch Memorial Public Library will host "Resumés that Get Jobs," a resumé-writing
program, on Tuesday from 9:15 a.m. until noon.
In-person registration is required prior to the class, which is limited in size.
Carol Guice, workshop specialist from Terra Community College, will present the program and offer
individualized assistance. She will discuss what qualities employers look for in resumés, how to handle
employment gaps, and who to use for references. Other discussions will include resumé headings, fonts,
and paper and ink choices.
