Mercer heads N.B. historical society

NORTH BALTIMORE – Phyllis A. Mercer was recently elected as president of the of the North Baltimore Area
Historical Society.
Other new officers are Tom Boltz, vice president; Paula Miklovic, secretary; and Gwenn Mauk, treasurer.

Elected to the society’s Board of Directors were Janice Emahiser and Rick VanMooy. All officers and
directors will serve two-year terms.
The officers and board thanked former society president Bonnie Knaggs for her many years of service and
her initiative in preserving North Baltimore area history.
The board conferred on her the title of President Emerita of the North Baltimore Area Historical Society.

The society is seeking volunteers to help with a number of activities, including recording and preserving
the society’s historic artifacts, documents, and photographs and serving as docents for tours. Anyone

The North Baltimore Area Historical Center is located at 229 N. Main St. and is open every Tuesday
morning from 9 a.m. to noon and at other times by appointment.
