Teens take on ?Into the Woods?

TOLEDO ? ?Into The Woods? will be staged at the Millennium Theatre in Maumee Valley Country Day School,
1715 S. Reynolds Road.
Performances are Aug. 7 and 8 at 7 p.m. and Aug. 9 at 2 p.m.
Tickets are $8 for adults and $5 for students/seniors.
Box office opens one hour prior to curtain. Handicap seating is available but those needing assistance
are asked to arrive at least 30 minutes before show time.
Twenty-two performers ages 14-20 are participating in the Orphan Productions? Summer Musical Theatre
Intensive 2009 show.
Local persons starring in the cast include:
Narrator, Kyle Zwyer, a senior at Bowling Green State University; Cinderella?s prince, Grady Long, of
Perrysburg who is a sophomore at Cincinnati Conservatory of Music; Cinderella?s mother, Sarah Keune, a
sophomore at Perrysburg High School; Jack, Kevin Thiel, a sophomore at Perrysburg High School; witch,
Amanda Reisner, freshman at BGSU; Rapunzel?s prince, Jarrod Alexander Goad, a sophomore at BGSU.
Plan to journey to a place where ?once upon a time? Little Red makes her way to Granny?s house, Jack
climbs his beanstalk, Cinderella wishes to meet Prince Charming at the ball, the Baker and his Wife try
to reverse a curse the Witch has put on them, and Rapunzel sings and cares for her golden hair from her
tower.
Join characters made famous in the tales of Brothers Grimm as they embark on a musical quest upon which
they hope to fulfill dreams and find their ?happily ever after.?
Learn along with them as they realize that while the ?woods may just be trees,? they also represent that
which is feared in life and must be faced.
Songs like ?No One Is Alone,? ?Agony,? ?It Takes Two,? ?I Guess This Is Goodbye,? ?On The Steps Of The
Palace,? and ?I Know Things Now? are featured in a score and book written by the Tony Award-winning duo
of Stephen Sondheim and James Lapine.
The show is presented through special arrangement with Music Theatre International, New York.
