Lessons in Braille offered at Wood County Public Library

Youth ages 10 and up, along with adults, are invited to participate in a “Learn to Read Braille” class
during the month of October at the Wood County District Public Library.
Dr. Sheri Wells-Jensen will lead the class each Monday evening in October from 7 to 8 p.m.
The second class on Oct. 12 will meet at Grounds for Thought, 174 S. Main St., as the library will be
closed for Columbus Day. Everyone will learn to appreciate Braille with their fingers and practice
playing card games without looking, as well as writing Braille using a slate and stylus.
Registration is requested and a list of materials suggested for purchase is available at the Children’s
Place desk or by calling (419) 352-8253.
Patrons are encouraged to stop by the Children’s Place and ask to “see” a deck of Braille playing cards.
