TODAY
"Henry: Portrait of a Serial Killer," 1986 film by John McNaughton, will be screened at 7:30
p.m. in Gish Film Theater in Hanna Hall.
Guest artists violist Misha Galaganov and pianist John Owings, faculty members at Texas Christian
University, will perform at 8 p.m. in Bryan Recital Hall of the Moore Musical Arts Center.
WEDNESDAY
Mezzo-soprano Ellen Scholl, tenor Christopher Scholl and pianist Kevin Bylsma will perform works by
Richard Strauss, Hanns Eisler, Thomas Pasatieri and "Au fond du temple saint" by Georges
Bizet, featuring baritone Sean Cooper, at 8 p.m. in Bryan Recital Hall.
THURSDAY
Visiting poet Linda Gregerson will read from her work at 7:30 p.m. in Prout Chapel. Her book
"Magnetic North" was a finalist for the 2007 National Book Award.
A family’s fight for survival on the Iran-Iraq border is portrayed in "Zamani baraye masti asbha
(Time for Drunken Horses)," showing at 7:30 p.m. in Gish Film Theater as part of the International
Film Series.
The Student Composers’ Forum will feature works by graduate and undergraduate composition majors at 8
p.m. in Bryan Recital Hall.
SUNDAY
The 1946 British film "A Matter of Life and Death." known as "Stairway to Heaven" in
the U.S. will be the opening show in the Sunday Matinees series in Gish Film Theater at 3 p.m. Dr. Jan
Wahl, a film historian from Toledo, will provide commentary.
The Bowling Green Philharmonia, conducted by Emily Freeman Brown, and the Collegiate Chorale, directed by
Sandra Stegman. will perform music by Mendelssohn and Vaughan at 3 p.m. in Kobacker Hall of the Moore
Musical Arts Center. Tickets are $10 and $7 for students and senior citizen in advance, and $13 and $10,

"There Will Be Oil," an exhibition of paintings by Seth Bordner, continues through Sept. 2) in
the Bowen-Thompson Student Union Art Gallery. Gallery hours are 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday-Friday, 10 a.m.
to 9 p.m. Saturdays and 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sundays.
In the Fine Arts Center, "UpScaled/DownSized," an exhibition of drawings and paintings by 14
artists who portray big subjects in small formats, continues through Oct. 4 in the Willard Wankelman
Gallery and a juried exhibition of high school artwork from northwest Ohio and southeast Michigan,
"FOCUS" continues through Oct. 4 in the Dorothy Uber Bryan Gallery. Hours are
Tuesday-Saturday, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Thursdays 6-9 p.m. and 1-4 p.m. Sundays.
