Wayne youth seriously injured in car-bike crash

WAYNE — A 13-year-old boy was transported by air ambulance Monday after a collision with a car in front
of his home.
The Wood County Sheriff’s Office reports that at about 1:30 p.m. Brandon Williamson, of Wayne, was riding
a bicycle west on Ohio 281 around Huffman Road and was struck by a vehicle driven by Ellen Dalton, of
Wayne, which was traveling in the same direction.
The report states that Dalton observed Williamson and honked the car horn. According to the report,
Dalton’s Chevy Blazer slowed down and attempted to pass as the bicycle swerved into the path of the car.

Williamson was taken to St. Vincent Medical Center by Life Flight with incapacitating injuries, and
Dalton and a passenger were treated at the scene.
A press release from the sheriff’s office stated the juvenile was in critical condition.
Central Joint Fire Department first responded to the scheme. Bowling Green Rescue Squad later arrived for
mutual aid with an ambulance.
The crash remains under investigation.
