PEMBERVILLE – Two teenage students at Eastwood High School were arrested Wednesday in connection with the
sale of prescription drugs.
Sheriff Mark Wasylyshyn said Thursday that a 17-year-old student was caught selling what appeared to be
Tylenol 3 to another individual of the same age in the school parking lot. One of the students was
charged with fourth-degree felony trafficking, since the incident occurred on a school campus. The other
student will be charged with a fourth-degree misdemeanor for possession.
Both were taken to Wood County Juvenile Detention Center.
The sheriff said his office received a grant for an additional undercover drug deputy and that the
deputies have been concentrating heavily on enforcing drug abuse at schools. Wasylyshyn said the
sheriff’s office has a zero tolerance policy on drug use.
"Prescription drugs is probably one of the most abused drugs in our country right now," he
said. "It’s an ongoing thing."
