Arsenault earns MAC honor
CLEVELAND — Bowling Green redshirt junior Alexa Arsenault is the Mid-American Conference women’s soccer
player of the week.
Arsenault had 12 saves and a goals-against average of 0.00 last weekend, helping the Falcon defense post
a pair of shutouts.
Arsenault has three complete-game shutouts this season, and has increased her school-record career total
to 20.
On the season, Arsenault has a total of 70 saves and a GAA of 1.22.
BG women’s golf tied for third
KETTERING — Bowling Green women’s golf team is tied for third Monday’s first round of the Dayton Fall
Invitational being played at the NCR Country Club North Course. The final round is today.
Cincinnati leads the 10-team field with a 317 total. BG, Ohio and Evansville are tied at 327.
BG’s scores were: Hannah Lambert, tied for seventh, 80; Lauren Glew, 12th, 81; Susannah Grunden, tied for
13th, 82; Paula DiFrancesco, tied for 25th, 84; and Megan Gormley, tied for 27th, 85.
BG men’s golf tied for sixth
KETTERING — Bowling Green men’s golf team is sixth after the first round of the 36-hole Dayton Flyer
Invitational at the NCR Country Club’s South Course.
Toledo leads the 17-team event with a 298. BG and Ohio are tied at 309.
BG’s scores were: Drew Preston, tied for 16th, 76; Matt Schneider and Wes Gates, tied for 23rd, 77;
Parker Hewit, tied for 43rd, 79; and John Powers, tied for 55th, 80. Powers is a Bowling Green High
School graduate.
The final round is today.
Perrysburg man wins Columbus Marathon
COLUMBUS — Perrysburg resident Matthew Folk took first place at the Columbus Marathon Sunday.
Folk finished the 26-mile course in a time of 2:20.45.
Folk narrowly beat out Kenya’s Richard Kessio, who led for the first 25 miles of the race.

This is the final week for Wood County high school coaches to report their weekly statistics for boys and
girls cross country, boys and girls soccer and volleyball.
The reports are due Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. for publication in Thursday’s paper and should be for the
regular season and league meets only.

State Special Olympics bowling set
COLUMBUS —
A total of 20 athletes, bowling on four-person teams, will represent Wood County at the state Special
Olympics bowling tournament this weekend.
Competition is scheduled at two venues in the Columbus area: Holiday Lanes hosts Saturday sessions at
noon and 2:30 p.m., and a Sunday session at 9:30 a.m.
Sawmill Lanes hosts Saturday sessions beginning at 9 a.m. and 1:30 p.m., and also has a Sunday session at
9 a.m.
County players help
Notre Dame win freshmen title
TOLEDO — Sara Morlock and Hannah Rine from Bowling Green and Courtney Dane and Bella Morse from
Perrysburg helped Notre Dame Academy win the City League freshmen volleyball championship.
