The Mid-County Ambulance Board will meet Wednesday at 3:15 p.m. at the building on County Home Road.
Seniors gather on Thursday
The monthly Senior Gathering and free meal will be held Thursday at noon at Mt. Zion United Brethren
Church, located at the corner of Bays and Reynolds roads.
Fire damage kept at $1,000
PERRYSBURG – Smoke detectors alerted residents early Monday to a fire that apparently started in an
aquarium pump.
Fire Chief Jeff Klein said firefighters were dispatched at about 5 a.m. to the home at 1437 Rivercrest
Drive, where the residents had reported smoke coming from the basement. There, the department
extinguished some flames and then vented the home to diminish carbon monoxide levels generated by the
smoke.
No one was injured during the incident.
Klein estimated the damage, mostly involving the aquarium, at around $1,000.
Do the chicken dance at Wow! Wednesday!
The Wow! Wednesday! program at the Wood County District Public Library’s Children’s Place will have
participants dancing like chickens.
Elvis Poultry, who is featured in the new book "Chicken Dance," will be promoting the book with
a dance contest Wednesday from 4 to 5:30 p.m. The video of everyone dancing will be posted on YouTube.

Wow! Wednesday! provides after school fun every Wednesday for kids ages 8 and up. For this week’s event,
parents must sign a release form.
