Parking meter holiday starts Saturday in BG

Mayor John Quinn has declared Saturday through Dec. 31 as a parking meter holiday in the City of Bowling
Green.
During the parking meter holiday, there will be no charge to park at most city parking meters although
all other parking restrictions will be in effect.
The parking meter holiday will not include the on-street meters in front of the Wood County Courthouse on
Court Street, between North Summit and North Prospect, or the meters in the county parking lot.
Although the parking meter holiday removes the charge for parking in designated metered spaces, all other
parking restrictions, such as the two-hour parking limit, parking in handicapped spaces, prohibition of
on-street parking in the downtown from 3 to 5 a.m., and other regulations will continue to apply during
the parking meter holiday and will be enforced.
Quinn encourages businesses, proprietors, and persons working in the downtown to share rides and park in
long-term meter spaces to allow parking meter turnover for those shopping and/or dining in the downtown.
