OBETZ, Ohio — Defending state champion Perrysburg finished in sixth place out of 20 teams in the Division I state girls cross country meet, and Bowling Green finished in 20th at Fortress Obetz and Memorial Park on Saturday.
Lancaster won the D-I meet with 114 points, followed by Hilliard Davidson (132), Mason (143), Talawanda (149), Lakota West (172), and Perrysburg (200).
Out of 182 runners, Perrysburg’s Ava Beeks placed 12th individually, finishing in 17:54.85 and Kaelyn Becken was 42nd (18:50.24).
Other Perrysburg runners were Lexi Schultz (43rd, 18:51.21), Brayleigh Becken (107th, 19:37.39), Natalie Sanders (114th, 19:43.07), Carly Friar (124th, 19:52.19), and Aaralynn Rodrigues (161st, 20:30.44).
Finishing out the team standings were Milford (212), Wadsworth (273), Gahanna Lincoln (276), Canton GlenOak (276), Cleveland St. Joseph (279), Avon (288), Dublin Jerome (291), Centerville (293), Olentangy Liberty (293), Olentangy Orange (341), Rocky River (345), Solon (389), Massillon Jackson (413) and BG (433).
Lilly Downey led BG, finishing in 18:56.89 to place 48th, and teammate Natalie Neeson finished in 19:55.19 to place 131st.
Other BG runners were Kate Scarletto-Scholl (141st, 20:02.1), Shelby Janes (149th, 20:06.72), Annie Oberlander (153rd, 20:09.73), Madison Carney (167th, 20:40.83), and Maddie Evans (177th, 20:58.11).
