Donna Jean (Mapes) Wheeler, 73, of Weston, Ohio, passed away peacefully on October 19, 2024.
Born on February 21, 1951, in Toledo, Ohio, to the late Noah and Mary Alice (Proxmire) Mapes, Donna lived a life full of love, devotion to her family, and kindness toward all who knew her.
Donna attended Gulf High School in New Port Richey, FL and was a homemaker for most of her life. She was the best cook and would drink coffee all day long. She also enjoyed playing solitaire and euchre on her phone.
Donna is survived by her loving children, Bryan McCray and his wife Sonja, Brandon McCray, and her daughter Chera Soto and her husband Anthony. Donna was also cherished by her sisters: Marilyn Mapes, Cindy Mapes Sheward, and was a proud grandmother to seven grandchildren and growing number of great-grandchildren.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother Paul Mapes.
Donna will be remembered for her warm heart, her unwavering support for her family, and the joy she brought to everyone she encountered.
Contributions in her honor may be gifted to a local food pantry or an organization of the donor’s choice.
Services will be private.
