Bryan man arrested for inducting panic after allegedly threatening to shoot people at bar

A Williams County man has been arrested for inducing panic after allegedly threatening to shoot people in a downtown bar.

Bowling Green police were dispatched to the 100 block of North Main Street Thursday for an individual who was reportedly threatening to shoot people at the bar and then kill himself.

The man was identified as Reese Brown, 19, Bryan.

When officers arrived around 11:19 p.m., they placed their cruiser at an angle to Brown’s truck, blocking him in, according to the Bowling Green Police Division report.

Brown exited the vehicle and asked officers what they were doing. Officers told Brown that someone called about the incident. Brown was then placed into the police cruiser while officers searched his vehicle, according to the report.

Brown told officers he was upset about being unable to contact his girlfriend. The girlfriend told a friend that she was only going to hang out at the bar, according to the report.

Brown admitted to threatening the people at the bar. In Brown’s vehicle, officers located a crossbow, a shotgun shell, and a black case under the black seat containing drug paraphernalia, according to the report.

The black case contained seven lighters, butene fuel, a metal smoking device, an OG glass smoking device, brown smoking device, pink rubber straw with marijuana residue, two empty pre-rolled marijuana containers, a silver vape pen, yellow and black vape pen, pink rubber smoking device holder, six THC cartridges, and one small glass container with THC wax. Behind the driver’s seat, officers located an alcoholic beverage, according to the report.

Brown was arrested for inducing panic, drug abuse/hashish, underage possession, open container, and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was taken to jail.
