PERRYSBURG — Work will soon begin on the next phase of the multi-use path along the Maumee River. This project is part of the Orleans Park Master Plan which includes connecting Riverside Park to Orleans Park.

In June, city council approved an agreement with Geddis Paving and Excavating, Inc. for $496,900 for construction of the path from Riverside Park to Green Lane. Work will begin this month and is expected to be completed by next fall. The path is designed and laid out to stay within the right-of-way and work with the existing topography along the Maumee River.

After that portion of path is done, the next phase will involve completing the multiuse path by connecting Green Lane to the Orleans Park parking lot off Maumee Western Reserve Road. City council approved the agreement with Weber Contracting for $923,733.25 for the project. The elevated multiuse path will be one mile long. Work is expected to start in the spring.
