Perrysburg Rotary hosts community park event

PERRYSBURG — Perrysburg Rotary will hold a community park event on Oct. 20 from 11:30 – 2 p.m. at Perrysburg Rotary Community Park, 26350 Fort Meigs Road.

The event is presented by the Perrysburg Rotary Club and Perrysburg Rotary Community Foundation. McGivern Jewelers is the presenting sponsor. Other sponsors include Asset Protection Corporation and Skotynsky Financial Group, LLC.

See if you can top BGSU’s Freddie and Freida Falcon in a pumpkin or potato sack race. Kids can also enjoy face and pumpkin painting, balloon animals, and trick or treat stations. There will even be a costume contest for children dressed in their Halloween costumes. Donuts, cider and hot chocolate will be served, and Off the Rails Food Truck will offer food for purchase. Another bonus: take home a gently used book donated by Way Public Library.

Community members are asked to bring non-perishable food for the Perrysburg Heights Community Pantry such as any of the following: macaroni and cheese, peanut butter, jelly, peanut butter crackers, cheese crackers, single serve fruit cups, single serve oatmeal packets, Knorr pasta sides or Rice-a-Roni, and manual or electric can openers.

“This is the fourth year that we’ve held our Fall into Rotary Park event,” says Tami Wise, committee chair and past president of the Perrysburg Rotary Club. “Maybe you haven’t visited our park yet, or if you have come on out and enjoy the festivities.”

Committee members include Joanie Asendorf, Bill Bohney, Lidia Ebersole, Alison Frye, Rick Gilts, Lorena Gloden, Chris Goeckerman, Shaun Graham, Wayne Koskinen, Ashley Lopez, Susan Nelson, Jack Sculfort, Sarah Schoesler, Mitchell Skotynsky, Bob Venzel, and Mark Weber.

Perrysburg Rotary Park includes the Welch Family Pickleball Complex with eight pickleball courts that have become popular for people of all ages, the Steve Hopkins Tennis Complex with lighted tennis courts, a covered pavilion with public restrooms, an all-inclusive playground for children, a walking/jogging track, and athletic fields.
