Trotter’s Tavern hosts ribbon cutting ceremony

The Bowling Green Chamber of Commerce and Trotter’s Tavern will hold a ribbon cutting ceremony to celebrate the grand re-opening of the newly renovated location.

This event is scheduled for 11 a.m. on Tuesday at 119 N. Main St. and is open to the public.

The ceremony will include statements from city representatives to congratulate owners Greg and Heather Shepherd on the updates to their spot, a local favorite.

Trotter’s Tavern is a well-known steakhouse downtown, near Bowling Green’s Four Corners. They pride themselves on friendly service, a comfortable atmosphere, excellent food, and several ice-cold draft beer choices.

“Trotter’s Tavern was opened in 1994. My wife, Heather, and I purchased Trotter’s right around its 30-year anniversary. We have added a few menu items and drink options, including partnering with Juniper Brewing Co. to keep them on tap every day we’re open. We have also created a newer-looking up-to-date Trotter’s logo for our sign out front, menus, and all our new staff apparel,” said owner Greg Shepherd.

As part of their $6,000+ renovation to the dining room, they removed the indoor “roof” structure that hung over the entire bar area, and with two new metal support lintels, they brought back the 100+ year old brick that was covered for the past 30 years. They also added three brand new flat screen TVs, and new lighting.

The event is open to the public, with registration open at bgchamber.net/rsvp. Light refreshments will be served.
